This website is operated by Clear Vision Glass and Glazing. By using it you agree to these terms. The content on this site is provided for general information about our services and is not professional advice for your specific property. Building standards, compliance requirements and pricing all depend on the particular circumstances of a job.

Information about standards

Where we refer to Australian Standards — including AS 1288 for glass in buildings, AS 1926.1 for pool barriers, and AS 3959 for construction in bushfire-prone areas — we do so in general terms to help explain our work. Those standards are detailed documents and their application depends on the specific building, its use and its location. Nothing on this site should be relied on as a compliance determination for your property. Certification of a pool barrier must be carried out by a registered building surveyor or inspector, not by the installer.

Quotes

• Quotes are free and carry no obligation.
• A quote given from photographs or descriptions is an estimate based on the information supplied. If the job differs materially once we see it — a different glass type, a damaged frame, restricted access, or a size that does not match — we will tell you before proceeding and confirm any change in price.
• Quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise, and are subject to change if material or supplier pricing changes.
• Quotes cover only the work described. Work that is discovered once we begin — rotted timber, corroded frames, substrate that will not take a fixing — is quoted separately.

Measurement and manufactured glass

Toughened and laminated glass, sealed double glazed units, splashbacks and shower screens are manufactured to the measurements taken for your job and cannot be cut, drilled or altered afterwards. Where we measure on site, that measurement is our responsibility. Where you supply measurements and ask us to proceed on them, the cost of a panel made to incorrect supplied measurements is yours.

Access and site conditions

You are responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the work area at the agreed time, and for telling us about anything on site that affects safety — asbestos, unstable structures, animals, or restricted access. Where access is not available at an agreed appointment, a call-out fee may apply.

Payment

Unless agreed otherwise, payment is due on completion. A deposit may be required for custom manufactured items, because they are made specifically for your job and cannot be resold. Where an insurer is paying, direct billing is subject to the claim being approved; if the claim is declined, the invoice reverts to you as the customer.

Warranty and your rights

We warrant our workmanship. Manufactured products carry the manufacturer’s warranty, which we will pass on to you.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law, including the right to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

Our warranty does not cover damage caused by impact after installation, misuse, building or ground movement, or work carried out by others on our installation.

Cancellation

You can cancel a booking without charge with reasonable notice. Once custom glass has been cut or ordered for your job it cannot be cancelled without charge, because it cannot be used elsewhere.
