How we approach shower screens
Frameless
The cleanest look and the reason most people call. Heavy 10mm toughened glass with minimal hardware, hinged off the wall or a glass-to-glass hinge. It needs sound wall substrate behind the tiles for the hinge fixings and a properly graded floor, both of which we check at measure rather than discover on install day.
Semi-frameless
The practical middle ground and the most popular choice we install. A slim frame on the fixed panels with a frameless door — most of the frameless look, better tolerance for out-of-square openings, and a noticeably lower price. For most family bathrooms this is the sensible option.
Framed and over-bath screens
Fully framed screens remain the most watertight and forgiving option, which is why they still make sense over baths, in rentals and in bathrooms where the walls are well out of true. Modern framed systems are far slimmer than the older ones people picture.
Easy-clean coated glass
A factory-applied hydrophobic coating that stops soap scum and hard-water mineral bonding to the surface. In the harder water areas through the south-east corridor it makes a real difference to how often the screen needs a proper clean. Worth the small premium; we will say so, and we will also say when it is not needed.
Getting the fall and the seals right
Most shower screen leaks are not glass failures — they are water running the wrong way because the floor falls away from the waste, or a seal that was never the right profile for the gap. We check the fall at measure and fit the correct seal profile rather than a universal one that almost fits.
Hardware that matches the rest of the bathroom
Chrome, matte black, brushed nickel, brushed gold and gunmetal are all available. Bringing the screen hardware in line with your tapware and towel rails is a small detail that makes a renovation look considered rather than assembled.
