How we approach flyscreens & security doors
Re-meshing beats replacing
If the frame is straight, re-meshing is a fraction of the cost of a new screen and the result is identical. We re-mesh in standard fibreglass, in aluminium where durability matters, and in heavy-duty pet mesh where a dog or cat has already been through the last one.
Pet mesh
Pet mesh is a much heavier weave that resists claws and pushing. If you have replaced the same screen twice, this is the fix. It is slightly less transparent than standard mesh, which is a fair trade for not doing the job again every summer.
Security doors and screens
Stainless steel mesh security doors let you leave the main door open for airflow while the house stays secure. Proper security screens are tested against knife shear, impact and pull tests — there is a real difference between a security screen and a decorative screen door, and it is worth understanding which you are buying.
Colour matching
Screen frames are available in the standard powder-coat colours, so new screens can match existing window frames rather than standing out. For a whole-house re-screen this matters more than people expect.
Made to the opening
Very few window openings are a standard size, particularly in older homes through Beaconsfield, Emerald and the hills. Every screen we supply is made to the measured opening, so it sits properly in the track and does not need packing or forcing.
Done with the glazing, in one visit
If we are already on site replacing glass, doing the screens at the same time saves a second call-out and means the window is only pulled apart once.
