Glazing in Vermont
Vermont is solid post-war and 1970s housing with a lot of original timber and early aluminium joinery still in place, and it produces a steady run of smaller precision work — glass cut to size for shelving, cabinet doors, table tops and bench protectors, alongside ordinary re-glazing. The older timber sashes here are usually still putty-glazed, so a broken pane means cutting the putty line back properly rather than dropping a new pane into a bead. Sliding door hardware from the 70s is the other regular: tracks worn through and rollers collapsed, which is a repair rather than a replacement more often than people expect.
